When most travel planners are putting together incentive travel packages, they usually look for all-inclusive options, such as luxury cruises and all-inclusive resorts. Companies that can afford to provide all-inclusive accommodations will certainly receive the gratitude of their incentive travel winners who will be pleased at not having to spend their own money on most meals and drinks while traveling. However, there is another option that incentive travel planners might want to consider as well: self-catering accommodations.
Self-catering accommodations for incentive travel are an excellent option for companies with limited travel budgets, for incentive travel destinations that may not have all-inclusive options and for specific destinations that might be experienced differently with self-catering lodgings. For example, winners who are awarded a relaxing mountain retreat will have a completely different experience staying in a self-catering cabin than they would if staying in a hotel. Additionally, self-catering lodgings allow recipients to cook meals or make snacks at any time of the day or night without needing to put on clothes or make-up to head down to a hotel restaurant. If a truly relaxing experience is the primary goal of the travel package, this can be an enticing option.
Incentive travel participants will appreciate having the option of dining in or going out and will also appreciate the convenience and cost-savings of having kitchen and laundry facilities readily at hand.
