Crystal Cruises Simplifies its Pricing Structure

In an effort to seduce more couples, Crystal Cruises has changed its 2010 price structure to include two-for-one fares on all cruises. The change comes as a response to a survey that showed those types of promotions were the ones that customers wanted the most.

Bill Smith, senior vice president of sales at Crystal stated, “Consumers want simple, clean and understandable messages. Two-for-one is straight forward and easy to understand.”

The study, by the Harrison Group, showed that most people wanted two-for-one deals. This was followed closely by shipboard credits, free air and unlimited shore excursions. By making dramatic changes to its price structure to fit the needs of the customer, Crystal Cruises seems to be sailing in the right direction.

Overall fares will be 15% to 20% lower than similar cruises in 2009. Crystal also plans to offer free air and a system of onboard credits of up to $2,000 per couple labeled “As You Wish”. The cruise line also plans to continue its price guarantee. This includes guests with prior 2010 bookings, which will be rebooked at the lower fare.

During tough economic times, it seems that the management at Crystal Cruises understands what is necessary to achieve higher booking rates. They’ve applied the new economic K.I.S.S. principle, Keep It Simple and Survive.

For incentive meetings and events, an all inclusive cruise can save as much as 40% over a land based venue.  Meeting and incentive planners now have a resource at Seasite.com – the first and only Web portal for the cruise meetings and incentive market.  Seasite makes it easy to book group cruise events, incentive cruises, cruise meetings and more.

Cruise sourcing can now be as easy and efficient as planning hotel events.
