Great Deals at Mexican Hotels and Resorts
Here’s a look at some of those deals. (As usual, restrictions may apply.)
•The all-inclusive adults-only Royal Hideaway Playacar (800-999-9182; royalhideaway.com) on the Riviera Maya south of Cancun, is offering a free night for every paid night through Dec. 22 (book by Nov. 10). Rates start at $300 per person and include all meals, beverages, non-motorized water sports, taxes and gratuities.
•The Occidental Grand Xcaret (800-858-2258; occidentalhotels.com) on the Riviera Maya has an all-inclusive deal (including meals with alcoholic beverages, scuba lessons, horseback riding and other activities) starting at $61 per person, double, including taxes and gratuities. One child 12 and under (per adult) stays for free in the same room; good through Dec. 24.
•On the luxury end, the Capella Pedregal in Cabo San Lucas (877-247-6688; capellapedregal.com), open since July and accessible via a privately owned 1,000-foot tunnel, has an introductory package with breakfast and a daily $100 resort credit starting at $475, plus tax (nightly rates climb to $675 in January); good for stays through Dec. 18.
•The four Real-brand resorts on Mexico’sCaribbean coast are knocking 30% off room rates for stays from Dec. 24 to Dec. 23, 2010, if booked by Nov. 15. In addition, resort credits of $100 to $200 are being offered for stays over the Christmas holidays. •The CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta has rates starting at $179, plus tax, on Dec. 19-22, if booked by Nov. 15. Spa treatments are two-for-one, and kids 12 and under eat free when accompanied by paying adults. 888-236-2427; puertovallartamarriott.com.
•A promotion from the AAA five-diamond Grand Velas All-Suites Resort in Nuevo Vallarta aimed at single parents offers a 56% savings with a $300 nightly rate, good through Dec. 24 at the all-inclusive resort. Two kids under 16 can share the suite and eat for free; some spa and fitness services also are included.
