Traveling Without Viruses
There is no mystery to it; travel to Mexico has waned in light of the recent influenza outbreak, and although the disease is waning people’s perceptions tend to remain in place a long time. Many people are turning to Hawaii instead of Mexico for meetings and incentive travel.
Due to the recent decay in the world’s economic systems, travel to Hawaii has declined and remained low. While this is hard on Hawaii financially, it provides a boost for meeting and event planners as the flu fears take hold.
To take advantage of re-bookings, some hotels and agencies are offering discounts to people re-booking their travel to Hawaii. Even some of the airlines are helping out by also lowering their fares. Even though Mexico has also reduced its prices considerably for travel and accommodations, the scare will not go away overnight and people will likely continue to re-book for at least a little while.
And it doesn’t stop with hotels, activities, or air fares–some all-inclusive packages are also reduced in price, making Hawaii a great destination now for incentive travel. Any planner who regularly books incentive trips knows that all-inclusive plans are great for companies who are trying to be more frugal, since they will know exactly how much everything will cost when they plan it.
If you are looking for the perfect tropical vacation for an incentive trip, don’t leave out Hawaii when you’re putting together ideas for your client. You will not only reduce fears of illness, but help your client keep costs down while keeping incentive high.
